Why removing unhelpful mindsets should be like uninstalling default apps on your phone

Almost everyone who uses a smartphone will be familiar with this. Your phone starts to act up, it’s slow, memory is almost full or it’s just not performing optimally.

So you look for what to delete; duplicate files, old photos, songs you haven’t listened to in months.

Many times you uninstall apps. That app was fun and trending months ago and you couldn’t get enough of it but is now forgotten about.

Apps you didn’t install, don’t need but find on your home screen, sponsored and suggested by the phone’s Operating System.

Just like we sometimes need to look through our phones and uninstall apps that are no longer useful, obsolete, no longer serve our needs or were imposed on us by the Operating System.

We need to uninstall from our mental OS, thinking which no longer serves us.

Mindsets, perspectives and paradigms, are slowing us down or stopping us from optimising our lives, energy or focus on essential things. “Apps” installed by the environment, the conversations we’ve had.

An experience that hibernated at the back of our mind but is really a hindrance to moving forward.

We need to self assess and look for what “apps” we need to uninstall.
